Acquiring land for setting up industries in Vishakhapatnam has resulted in loss of employment and livelihood opportunities for poor families and marginal farmers already burdened by their impoverished circumstances. Youth Charitable Organisation (YCO) with support from Welthungerhilfe set about to rectify the situation in seven mandals in Vishakhapatnam, Yellamanchali, Madugula, Kotauratla, Kasimkota, Rambilli, Atchuthapuram and South Rayavaram. As envisaged in natural resource management and watershed development programmes, they empowered target groups to function effectively as owners, users and managers of development activities.
